Reminder Regarding By-catch Limits Summer Fishery 2016

Please Note;

Bycatch of cod and haddock must be kept at the lowest possible levels.

​The max amount of cod and haddock that can be landed cannot exceed 1500 lbs round or 10% whichever is greater.

By-catch percentages can be based on all species except hake, skate or dogfish.

If it appears that a fisher is directing for cod, hake or Pollock they will be
subject to an industry sanction and DFO may close the fishery for all fixed gear fishers with less than 45 foot vessels. 

The hake, cod and haddock will be monitored if landings are too high the 4VN Management Group Society will revert to lower trip limits.
