Monday April 24th 4VN Spring Halibut Fishery Opening Postponed

The 0001AM Monday of the 4VN Spring Fishery Opening has been postponed due to heavy ice in a number of different harbours.

The situation will be reevaluated for a Tuesday opening tomorrow and there will be a an update sent approximately around supper time.

Herb has also indicated that there is actually a bad weather forecast that will be a affecting some areas which may also cause delays in the opening and if it gets too late the Board may consider instead of a 2 trip fishery a one trip 1000lb fishery.

This will only happen if the current opening continues to be delayed.
