Whale Entanglements!

Notice to All Fishers You may be aware of more right whale deaths in the past couple of days. The remainder of the Area 12 fishery is being closed early due to this latest development. All gulf fisheries, including that in Area 19, are being watched very closely by the international community and ANY entanglements in our area will likely result in action by DFO. You are strongly urged to get rid of any floating rope you may have on your gear so as to minimize the chances of any whale entanglements here. Coil it, shorten it or use lead, please do whatever you can to avoid floating rope!
